When we say "best" or "featured", it is not an opinion: it is the result of a public formula with objective, verifiable criteria. No business can pay to rank higher; paid plans carry their own label (see disclosure) and do not affect the score.
The formula
Each listing scores points as follows:
- +3: license verified with the regulator (when it applies to the category).
- +2: verified within the last 90 days.
- +1: phone listed.
- +1: own website.
- +1: listing claimed by the business (shows it is active).
Ties are broken by name. We show the top 3 by score per town and category.
What does NOT count
- Payments: no plan (Pro, Local, Isla) adds points.
- Our opinions: there is no manual selection.
- Reviews: not yet in the formula (when there are enough verified reviews, they will be added with declared weight).
Transparency
Next to each featured listing we show why it scores: you will see the reasons ("License verified", "Recently verified", etc.). If you think there is a data error, report it.
