Trust Center: how we verify

Last updated: 2026-10-25.

This page explains in one place how Puerto Rico Experts works: what we check, what we do not check, how we earn money and how to correct us. We are an independent informational directory run from Caguas, PR. We are not a law firm, a CPA firm, a physician referral service or a government agency, and we do not provide legal, tax, financial or medical advice.

How we verify

The directory currently has 277 providers. On every listing we check the company's official website (name, services and, when shown, phone and address) or, for doctors without a website of their own, the hospital, medical-society or health-system directory cited on the listing. Each listing shows the date of its last check and a link to the source, and we re-check it at least every 90 days. Category detail is on About us.

What “Verified” means and what it does not

There are three distinct levels, and the listing says which one applied:

“Verified” does not mean that we recommend the provider, or guarantee the quality of its work or care, its prices, availability, insurance policies, certifications or accepted health plans, or that it has no complaints or sanctions. A license that was active on the date of the check can change afterwards. Nor is it an endorsement by the government or any professional association.

Reviews

Reviews are the opinions of the people who write them, not of Puerto Rico Experts. Moderation is 100% manual: a person reads every review and nothing is published automatically. Good and bad reviews are judged by the same criteria, we do not import reviews from other sites, and we show an average and count only when there are real approved reviews. Businesses with a claimed listing may reply publicly, and the reply is also reviewed before publication. Full rules, what we do not publish and how to report a review: Review policy.

Advertising: Verified, Claimed and Sponsored

These are three different things, and none can be bought with another:

Claiming a listing

It is free, it lets you correct your details, and it is not an endorsement by Puerto Rico Experts and does not buy verification. We send a code to an email on your website's domain or, if you do not have one, use manual verification with your corporate registry number or a document. A person reviews every change before it is published. To start: Claim my listing.

Corrections

If a detail is wrong, changed or the business closed, tell us on Corrections, through the contact form or at hola@puertoricoexperts.com. We fix it within a few days.

Privacy and security

What data we keep, why and how to exercise your rights: Privacy Policy. In short: reviewers' emails are not published; payment card details are entered at Stripe and never reach our servers; claim codes and sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes; and the site is served over HTTPS. To report a security issue write to hola@puertoricoexperts.com.

Official sources to verify for yourself

These are the official registries and portals where you can check a professional or business. We use them only where the last column says “Yes”; for the rest, they are where you should go. Links checked on 2026-10-25; if one changes, tell us.
